Since 1991, El Buen Samaritano has operated with a team of volunteers to distribute food from USDA, the Worcester County Food Bank, local markets and farms to people in need. In addition to providing food, our agency is also a resource center for government programs, clothing, furniture, and other administrative services.

El Buen Samaritano Food Program, we take pride in the work our organization provides our community. Jeff’s Place offers hope and healing in a supportive community for grieving children, teens, families, and individuals.

Jeff’s Place provides FREE support groups that are facilitated by both a masters level mental health clinician and an extensively trained volunteer facilitator. We provide support groups for children ages 3-18 and their adult caregivers, as well as young adults ages 19-25. One out of fifteen children in MA will experience the loss of a parent or sibling before the age of 18. These children are at risk for negative health outcomes. For children and teens needing additional support, we provide individual counseling. Grief and loss does not discriminate, our families come from a wide diversity of cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. We don’t charge for our support group services and create a community of people who are drawn together by a shared experience and their need for peer support to cope with their difficult situation. We are a prevention program. Our other areas of direct service are providing crisis intervention (anticipatory or post-death), educational workshops on childhood bereavement, primarily in schools and community organizations, and consulting services for corporations on how to support grieving employees.

On June 4th, 2021, the city of Worcester Massachusetts suffered the great loss of officer Manny Familia. A five-year veteran responded to the 911 call of a 14-year-old boy in distress at Green Hill Pond. Unfortunately, neither officer Familia nor the boy by the name of Troy Love made it out of the water alive. As we continue to remember the life of our beloved Manny our family is honored to announce THE MANNY 267 FOUNDATION. Manny took pride in serving the community and on being a member of the Worcester police department. Therefore, the Familia family created this foundation, to serve our community and our police department.

The actions of our son and brother although with a sad outcome also fills us with great pride and immense gratitude to know that Manny was a real-life hero. In our initial action this foundation’s goal is to raise funds to provide rescue tubes for every police cruiser and with the collaboration of the YMCA give proper training for our police to perform water rescues. In addition we want to provide swimming lessons and water surviving skills for kids and teenagers of the community starting with Worcester. Our goal is to donate a “Manny tube” to every police department in the United States and to prevent this type or tragedy from ever happening again.

Since being founded in December 2013, Operations Underground Railroad has gathered the world's experts in extraction operations and in anti-child trafficking efforts to bring an end to child slavery. O.U.R.'s Ops Team consists of former CIA, past and current law enforcement, and highly skilled operatives that lead coordinated identification and extraction efforts. These operations are always in conjunction with law enforcement throughout the world.

Once victims are rescued, a comprehensive process involving justice for the perpetrators and recovery and rehabilitation for the survivors begins.
